"When I was a student at Cambridge I remember an anthropology professor holding up a picture of a bone with 28 incisions carved in it. “This is often considered to be man’s first attempt at a calendar” she explained. She paused as we dutifully wrote this down. ‘My question to you is this – what man needs to mark 28 days? I would suggest to you that this is woman’s first attempt at a calendar.’ It was a moment that changed my life. In that second I stopped to question almost everything I had been taught about the past. How often had I overlooked women’s contributions?"

"As an atheist, I see nothing “wrong” in believing in a God. I don’t think there is a God, but belief in him does no harm. If it helps you in any way, then that’s fine with me. It’s when belief starts infringing on other people’s rights when it worries me. I would never deny your right to believe in a God. I would just rather you didn’t kill people who believe in a different God, say. Or stone someone to death because your rulebook says their sexuality is immoral. It’s strange that anyone who believes that an all-powerful all-knowing, omniscient power responsible for everything that happens, would also want to judge and punish people for what they are."

"When a woman says, ‘I have nothing to wear!’, what she really means is, ‘There’s nothing here for who I’m supposed to be today."

eh, I would replace “supposed to” with “want to”, but ya know

"I’m going to make a store called “Build-a-Bra” where girls can go and make bras that are for them if they have different shaped boobs. And really big boobs. And really small boobs. And bras for boys that they can stuff if they want them. And really any kind of boobs. And you’ll choose the size of each cup and then you can choose the color and pattern and shape. And it’ll be really cheap. But lace and diamonds will cost a little extra"
my 12 year old “niece” Lila on her business idea.
I love that little girl.

This is actually a REALLY FUCKING GOOD IDEA, especially for those who have boobs of significant size differences, as well as people with really really large ones. Lila, you are going to be rich. Seriously. Keep that thought in your mind. Because I know several people who are sick as hell of having to order their little numbers from online because no department store sells shit in their size.
